If you are anything like me, you have huge pores. If you don't have huge pores then I envy you. These giant craters around my nose have haunted me since I started wearing make up, and I have finally found a helper! Around two years ago my best friend, Sophia, stared working at the new Sephora in the mall. We were in name brand heaven. I am pretty sure all my paychecks went right to Sephora. I had never known anything but Target brands, so having these fancy things just a car ride away was pretty exciting. I can't tell you how many brands I have tried that just were not worth the money, but there are just as many that are fabulous and do what they promise. With all of this being said there was one product that I fell in LOVE with. All of the Benefit line is wonderful, but their POREfessional pore refiner stole my heart. Its creamy texture worked wonders on my face, and I have sung its praises since then. I have tried so many other primers/minimizers but since my skin is crazy sensitive all the silicone based ones broke me out. Well, since I quit my full-time job in May (yay for full time photographer, but no yay for the pay decrease!) I can't exactly spend $31.00 a month. That is $372.00 a year just on my pores. Wait. What?
I just recently ran out of my last tube, so I have been looking for something a little less expensive that did the same thing. Going back to my Target roots I spotted Baby Skin by Maybelline. Saw it. Bought it. LOVE IT. This primer/pore eraser is only $6.99 a tube, and is basically the exact same as the Benefit POREfessional! I was nervous that it was a clear gel (those tend to make my skin worse) but so far not one breakout from the product. It can get a little oily if too much is put on, so I tend to just use a tiny little bit and rub it mainly on the pores next to my nose then spread the rest out from there. Makeup looks smoother, stays on longer, and the best part...IT'S $6.99!
If you can splurge then by all means get the Benefit brand, but if you're a girl on a budget then Maybelline is the purchase for you.
